Subsidies
Subsidies
In Luxembourg, there are subsidies available for solar photovoltaic systems.
The following are the key points regarding the subsidies:
- Subsidies are granted by the Environment Agency (Administration de l’Environnement – AEV) for investments in projects aimed at rationalizing energy use and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.
- The subsidy for solar photovoltaic systems is 20% of the investment cost, with a ceiling of €500 per kWp.
- Solar photovoltaic systems must meet certain requirements, such as having a peak power capacity lower than or equal to 30 kW and being installed on the roof or facade of the building or incorporated in the building envelope.
- The subsidies apply to both renovation projects and new constructions, and they may also be applied for independently of such projects.
- Non-glass thermal collectors with polyethylene pipes and hybrid solar collectors generating hot water and electricity are not eligible for the financial aid.
