systems including a heat pump<\/li><li>Wood-fueled boilers and particulate filters<\/li><li>The development of a heating network and\/or connection to a heating network<\/li><\/ul><p>These subsidies are applicable to both renovation projects and new constructions. Eligible applicants include:<\/p><ul><li>Natural persons (individuals)<\/li><li>Legal entities established under private law<\/li><li>Public legal entities, excluding the State<\/li><\/ul><h3>Applications can be made by:<\/h3><ul><li>A legal representative of a group of natural or legal persons, provided you are a member of that group<\/li><li>The owner(s) of the property, except in cases of ownership transfer where the new owner of the property and\/or technical installation renounces the aid, allowing the previous owner who made the investments to benefit from it.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-48492b5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"48492b5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Klimabonus Aid: Eligibility for Installations and Residences<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fb0eb24 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fb0eb24\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Klimabonus aid is specifically for residential buildings in Luxembourg. It does not cover:<\/p><ul><li>Used (second-hand) systems<\/li><li>The exchange, replacement, or repair of a system part that isn\u2019t independently functional<\/li><\/ul><p>Systems that received financial aid under the 2012 or 2017 schemes are not eligible.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c006f27 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c006f27\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>From the <strong>5th of January<\/strong>, the Klimabonus state subsidies will change with the implementation of the new legislation (subject to final adoption of the law).\u00a0<\/p><p>This <strong>extends the current scheme by one year<\/strong> and <strong>introduces new subsidies<\/strong> for photovoltaic installations and domestic batteries, with greater consideration given to the size and power of the installations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2564a9e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2564a9e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For offers signed between the <strong>1st October 2024<\/strong> and <strong>4th March 2026<\/strong> and for which the final invoice must be issued no later than the 31st December 2026, a transitional phase applies during which two options are available:<\/p><p>the former subsidy scheme, with a <strong>subsidy of 50%<\/strong> and a maximum of \u20ac1,250\/kWc (self-consumption\/energy community).<\/p><p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p><p>the <strong>new Klimabonus subsidy scheme<\/strong>, the full application of which is detailed in the section below \u2018From the 5th January 2026\u2019.<\/p><ul><li>This framework applies a new calculation formula based on the installed power and, where applicable, the capacity of the installed battery, and gives you the choice between:<\/li><li>submitting the application for assistance in the traditional way to the Environment Administration<br \/><strong>pre-financing<\/strong> using the same new calculation formula, subject to compliance with the pre-financing conditions.<\/li><\/ul><p>It should be noted that from this period onwards, installations associated with a guaranteed feed-in tariff will no longer be eligible for a subsidy.<\/p><p>Finally, this scheme also provides a subsidy for the installation of a battery after the installation of a photovoltaic system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b75c4d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7b75c4d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Klimabonus Requirements:<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b34283 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3b34283\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Hydraulic Balancing: Hydraulic balancing is required for heating networks when installing:<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"\/heat-pump\/\">Heat pumps<\/a><\/li><li>Solar thermal systems with supplementary heating in new single-family houses or multi-unit buildings<\/li><\/ul><p>Solar Thermal Systems: These systems must:<\/p><ul><li>Have Solar Keymark-certified solar thermal collectors<\/li><li>Include a calorimeter<\/li><li>Have a minimum gross surface area of collectors:<ul><li>\u22659 m\u00b2 for flat-plane collectors<\/li><li>\u22657 m\u00b2 for vacuum tube collectors<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Non-glass thermal collectors with polyethylene pipes and hybrid solar collectors (hot water and electricity) are ineligible<\/li><\/ul><p>Solar Photovoltaic Systems: These systems must:<\/p><ul><li>Have a peak power capacity \u226430 kW<\/li><li>Be installed on the building\u2019s roof or facade or incorporated into the building envelope<\/li><li>Hybrid solar collectors (hot water and electricity) are eligible as photovoltaic collectors<\/li><\/ul><p>An electricity storage facility is eligible with a new photovoltaic installation if:<\/p><ul><li>It\u2019s connected to a self-consumed or community-used solar photovoltaic installation<\/li><li>The solar installation\u2019s peak power is &gt;4 kW (or &gt;1.5 kW per unit in multi-unit buildings)<\/li><li>The storage capacity is \u22641.5 kWh per kWpeak for residential buildings (max 12 kWh for single-family homes, 9 kWh per unit in multi-units) or \u22641 kWh per kWpeak for non-residential buildings<\/li><\/ul><p>Heat Pumps: Eligible heat pumps and hybrid heat pumps include:<\/p><ul><li>Geothermal heat pumps (vertical\/horizontal sensors) with a COP \u22654.3 at B0\/W35 (EN 14511 standard)<\/li><li>Hybrid geothermal heat pumps for existing residential buildings, either as an addition or a replacement, with a COP \u22654.3 at B0\/W35<\/li><li>Direct expansion geothermal heat pumps with a COP \u22654.3 at E4\/W35<\/li><li>Heat pumps combined with a latent heat accumulator and a solar thermal collector, COP \u22654.3 at B0\/W35<\/li><li>Air-to-water heat pumps, including vented ones, with a COP \u22653.1 at A2\/W35<\/li><li>Hybrid air-to-water heat pumps for existing residential buildings, either as an addition or a replacement, with a COP \u22653.1 at A2\/W35<\/li><\/ul><p>The heat pump must fulfill these criteria:<\/p><ol><li>The heating system should be able to supply a maximum initial temperature of 35\u00b0C (35W). If not, the heat pump\u2019s coefficient of performance must meet the required threshold at W35 with the chosen starting temperature.<\/li><li>The rated capacity of the heat pump is to be determined at 100% output under the aforementioned conditions.<\/li><li>The heat pump\u2019s power supply must have an electricity meter.<\/li><li>For heat pumps with invoices issued from 1 January 2024 onwards, a heat meter is required.<\/li><li>Hydraulic balancing is mandatory when installing a heat pump.<\/li><li>For existing residential buildings, heat pumps and hybrid heat pumps must have a buffer tank of at least 30 l\/kW thermal, except for those with an \u2018inverter\u2019 (variable frequency drive) with speed\/power modulation.<\/li><li>Geothermal or hybrid air-to-water heat pumps must operate independently (monovalent mode) and cover at least 70% of the annual heat demand in heat pump mode.<\/li><li>For air-to-water heat pumps and hybrid variants, the exterior component\u2019s sound power level (LW) based on EN 12102 must meet these standards:<ul><li>\u2264 5 kW: 48 dB(A)<\/li><li>5 kW and \u2264 12 kW: 51 dB(A)<\/li><li>12 kW: 55 dB(A)<\/li><\/ul><p>Systems exceeding these limits may use soundproofing to reduce noise. The sound-reduction value must be specified in the equipment\u2019s technical data.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><p>If the standard LW levels are not met, the noise at the nearest building site\u2019s boundary must not exceed 40 dB(A). A noise assessment using the \u2018calculatrice des \u00e9missions sonores\u2019 (noise emission calculator) provided by the Ministry is required prior to installation.<\/p><p>For indoor-only heat pumps, acoustic calculations must use the Ministry\u2019s provided tool.<\/p><p>Wood-Fuelled Boilers Eligibility<\/p><p>To qualify, wood-fuelled boilers must:<\/p><ol><li>Have a controlled combustion system.<\/li><li>Wood-pellet or wood-chip boilers should include an automatic feeder and ignition system.<\/li><li>Wood pellet stoves integrated into a central heating system must transfer at least 50% of useful heat.<\/li><li>For staged log combustion and combination wood log-pellet boilers, a buffer tank of at least 55 l\/kW rated thermal capacity is required.<\/li><li>Emission and efficiency thresholds:<ul><li>Particle emission \u2264 8 mg\/m3<\/li><li>Nitrogen oxide (NO) emission \u2264 200 mg\/m3<\/li><li>Boiler production yield \u2265 90%<\/li><li>Combustion yield of pellet stove \u2265 90%<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol><p>Particle filters (electrostatic or other) can be used to ensure particle emission post-commissioning does not exceed 8 mg\/m3.<\/p><p>Heating Networks and Connections<\/p><p>Renewable energy must constitute over 75% of the network\u2019s energy, proven by a certificate from the operator.
